Pebbles Inc. Handcutting Challenge

Hi all! My name is Mimi Leinbach and I am your Pebbles Inc. blog hostess of the week. This week I challenged the talented design team to use hand cutting as a distinct part of their layouts, cards or projects. All this technique takes is a little bit of patience, scissors, and a piece of patterned paper. Then you are on your way to a totally unique project.

Check out these terrific ideas to incorporate a little hand cutting into your layouts!

For this layout I hand cut several stars and robots out of the patterned paper from the Lil’ Buddy line.

Check out how Lisa Warren hand cut a bracket edge for her background.

The talented Debbie Standard went to town cutting up a peice of patterned paper from the Linnie Bell line. What a great way to create a background.

Mireille Divak made this gorgeous layout by hand cutting several flowers to complement her daughters picture.

Emeline Seet created this fun layout by cutting a patterned paper for a great background look as well as several flowers to embellish with.

Sophia Allison made this sweet layout by cutting along the lines in the pattern paper to create her background. I just love the way this looks.

This card made by Liz Qualman just pops. By cutting the pattern paper to make the paper pieced dress she made a one of a kind card that anyone would love to receive.

Thanks so much for dropping by and be sure to stop back for Inspiration Wednesday!

Bling Up That Chipboard!

Wow! It’s Friday already and that means today is my last day hosting the Pebbles Inc. Blog. Today I wanted to show you that it’s super easy to alter your chipboard to make your project one of a kind.

Chipboard has been a hot item in the scrapbooking world for a while now and I hope it continues to be because I LOVE IT!! I especially love the Pebbles Chips!

I used to work at my local scrapbook store and one of the things I heard so often about chipboard was that people didn’t know what to do with a pack of chipboard all the same colour. It’s super easy! Alter it! There are so many different ways to bling up that chipboard!

Below I altered my Pebbles Chips by adding Stickles to them.

Here, Kim Moreno ran the large chipboard flower through her Xyron and added glitter. Just like that, she has a matching chipboard accent for her adorable page. You’ll notice she added jewels to the chipboard brackets on either side of her layout as well.

On this card by Sophia Allison, sparkle fibres, jewels and flowers were added to dress up the already cute chipboard pieces.

Thanks to Pam Callaghan for creating this fab card with her Pebbles Chips. It goes to show how much just a few jewels can add to a piece of chipboard to make it a unique accent.

Now this is a work of chipboard art from Akilia Kuroki. She created this cute little album with tons of Pebbles Chips. Stamping and chalking are just two more amazing ways to dress up a piece of chipboard.

I don’t know about you but even though it was my tip to show you what to do with your Pebbles Chips to make them unique and more fun, I’ve learnt some great new ways to alter chipboard!

Thanks for joining me this week on the Pebbles Blog!!

Inspiration Wednesday

Thanks for joining me today to find out where some of my favourite inspiration comes from. Of course, my biggest inspiration is my cute niece and two nephews. They keep me scrapping with their adorable little faces!

Sometimes when I’m stuck for a good colour combo, I head on over to a painting website. The fresh and bright swatches sometimes jumpstart the creativity.

The best part of many of your local painting websites is that they provide inspiration rooms which can definitely get the ideas flowing. The picture below is from Glidden Paints.

I love the magazine Real Simple. They always have such clean and graphic designs and are always sure to inspire with their bright and cheerful colour combos!

Still looking for more? Try searching out an art website online. There are so many great sites to choose from where you can search all different genres. Looking for bright and fun? Or perhaps rich and classic? You are bound to find some great inspiration pieces out there!

Last but not least….and perhaps my most used place to go for inspiration? My fellow scrapbookers. They are always full of unique and exciting ways to document our memories!!
Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to pop by on Friday for ways to bling up that chipboard!

Pebbles DT Mix & Match Paper Challenge

Hi! My name is Cherie Nymeyer and I’m your Pebbles Inc. Design Team Blog Host for this week. My challenge to my fellow design team members was to create a layout, card or other project mixing and matching papers from more than one Pebbles paper line. My hope was to show you how truly versatile the collections can be!

For my layout, entitled “Meeting Joshua,” I used the “Birdies” paper from the So Tweet Collection and paired it with the “Bursts” and “Bubba” from the Lil’ Buddy Collection. A title, some journaling and a few awesome glittered Pebbles Chips, and the layout is complete!

“Meeting Joshua” by Cherie Nymeyer

Here’s what my fellow design team members created, mixing up patterned papers from different collections:

“He’s All Mine” by Lynn Ghahary

“Sisters” by Deanna Kroll

“Easter Colors” by Christa Paustenbaugh

“you make my heart sing” by Celeste Smith

I hope you found this challenge to be fun and hope you’ll give it a try with your favourite Pebbles Inc. Collections! Be sure to check back on Wednesday for some of my favourite places to find inspiration!

Rolled paper tip

Hi again ! This will be my last posting for my week as host of the blog, it was lots of fun sharing these beautiful creations with you.

“Love you” featuring the To Tweet collection.

This rolled paper technique is super easy to do and adds fun details to your layouts. For my layout, I cut circles with a 1 1/2 punch then rolled them up and glued them in a row next to the photo. I did a bit of sewing to hold everything in place and added embellishments.

For this one I just rolled up a small rectangluar piece of the patterned paper and attached it to the layout using a few eyelets and some string.
Here’s a look at cards and layout made by fellow DT members using this tip. 🙂

“Can’t stop time” by Susan Dupre featuring the Downtown collection.

and a close -up .

“Anniversary card” by Maureen Blanc featuring Linnie Bell collection.

“Aimy Card” by Maureen Blanc featuring Lil’ Miss collection

And here’s a peak of something I’m working on for an other challenge coming up soon !

I used this technique to make this “sun”flower.

and ripped up the edge of this layout and rolled up the opening (placing coordinate paper in the back of the layout!

Hope you will try this fun tip.
Please post a comment and add a link to your project.
Hope you all have a great long weekend!!!
Marielle
