There are few better ways to share gratitude than through a delicious treat, right? This week Design Team Member Juliana Michaels is sharing a thank you brownie mix jar.
Today I am excited to share with you how to create a simple, yet adorable, Thank You Jar.
I love to fill it with a brownie mix which makes it the kind of thank you gift that anyone would be happy to receive!
I am going to take you through the steps on how to decorate the jar using some patterned papers and stickers from the Pebbles Front Porch collection. Then head on over to my blog, 17turtles, for the Brownie Mix recipe and see the Thank You card I created to go with the jar.
Begin with a quart size glass jar. I was able to purchase individuals jars at Target.
Cut two 1.5 x 12″ strips from the striped paper. Use a border punch along the top edge of each strip.
Cut a 3 x 12″ strip from the text paper. Use liquid adhesive to adhere the punched strips to the top and bottom of the 3 x 12″ strip so that the final piece is 4″ high. The text paper will overlap the punched strips so that only 0.5″ is showing.
You will notice that this piece when wrapped around the jar does not go all the way around it. To solve this problem, you will lengthen the original piece by cutting a 3 x 2″ piece from the text paper. Overlap this piece onto the 4 x 12″ piece and glue it to one edge with liquid adhesive.
Place the lengthened strip around the jar, lining up the edges, apply liquid adhesive to the remaining edge and pull the strip around the jar.
To decorate the lid, place the insert on a piece of patterned paper and trace around it with a pencil.
Cut out the circle following the traced image.
Position the paper on top of the lid, place the lid on the top of the jar and then screw on the ring. Embellish it with a sticker.
Decorate the front of the jar with some scraps of patterned paper. Then, adhere a sticker using double sided foam tape for added dimension and depth.
Such a simple, but fun way to celebrate those who deserve a big THANK YOU!
